I am an experienced musician, violinist, and violin teacher. I have taught the violin to people of all ages and abilities since 2003. Would you like to have more confidence in your musical ability? Learn a repertoire of tunes that you can keep in your head, not on paper? Enabling you to join in with most traditional music sessions, anywhere in the world? It’s important to me that you enjoy playing the violin. I can teach you how to learn to feel more confident in your ability to play the violin. I also teach learning and performance skills on other instruments.

I am now working closely with Purbeck Youth Music, going into local schools to teach. We also run a group, called ‘The Purbeck Youth Tradfolk Collective’, that is focused on performing, and fast gaining notoriety! We recently performed at the Purbeck Valley Folk Festival 2024

Performance is my thing! Since 1994, I have worked all over the world, performing in theatre, film, and of course, live music events. I have been fortunate to work with outstanding artists. These include Platform 4, The Antler Ceilidh Band, Ceilidh Tree, and Elephant Talk. I also play as a soloist at events and celebrations of all descriptions. These range from weddings, birthdays, anniversaries to holocaust memorial events, and even funeral wakes.

All of these musical pursuits have led me back to needing my violin’s sound to be exceptional. It must be the best it can be both on stage and in the studio. Learning about music technology led to me developing a keen interest in audio recording and editing, music production, and mastering. I run a small, high-quality studio, providing bespoke violin parts, that have featured on countless albums.

During the COVID lockdown, I worked remotely with the composer Charlie Seaborn. I recorded the lead violin part for his soundtrack for the short film, The Chased. It went on to win first prize in several film festivals. It also won first prize for the best soundtrack at the Europe Film Festival!
